A device that uses water as a cooling medium to adjust the temperature of the superheated reheated steam. Its function is to control and maintain the superheated steam temperature or the reheated steam temperature at a specified value, and to prevent the superheater and reheater tube walls from heating. There are two types of desuperheaters: surface type and water spray type.
Surface type desuperheater: It is a tube heat exchanger that uses feed water or boiled water to cool steam. The cooling water flows in the pipes, and the stream flows between the pipes and washes the outer wall of the pipes to release heat, thereby being cooled. The desuperheater uses the method of adjusting the amount of cooling water to change the heat absorption of the cooling water to achieve the purpose of adjusting the steam temperature. According to the structure of the surface type desuperheater, it can be divided into U-shaped tube (or coiled incense tube) type and sleeve type. The advantage of surface desuperheater is that water and steam do not directly contact, and there is no special requirement for water quality. The disadvantage is that the structure is complex, the heating surface is large, and the temperature adjustment inertia (delay) is large. It is generally used for low and medium-pressure boilers.
Water spray desuperheater: Spray the atomized cooling water directly into the temperature control water vapor, make it evaporate into water vapor, and mix well with the temperature control water vapor to reduce the temperature of the temperature control water vapor. The spray water desuperheater sprays the cooling water into the temperature control water The structure of steam is different, and it can be divided into venturi type, vortex type, and porous nozzle type. The principle is to cool part of the saturated steam with feed water into condensed water and spray it into the desuperheater to adjust the temperature. The water injection is achieved by the pressure difference between the condenser and the desuperheater, without the need for a special desuperheating water pump. The water spray desuperheater is characterized by a simple structure, a large temperature adjustment range (up to 50°C-65'C), sensitive temperature adjustment, and easy automation. Therefore, it is widely used in boilers. The disadvantage is that it requires high spray water quality.
